Customize your ATAK:
ATAK is a malleable system that allows the user to customize a zoo of aspects and not just maps and callsigns. It takes some time using the system to know where to alter some of the attributes to the default tools, icons, viewing experience and plug-ins. Most of the customizing will work through the “Settings” tool. Some tools, like “Routes” Tool will hot key the user to customize the settings. Nearly every tool has customizations that the user can make, we will go over customizing the Toolbar. Read on as we customize the ATAK User Focused Toolbar.
Customize the ATAK User Focused Toolbar:
The Toolbar should be the place where you locate all of the users more frequently utilized plug-ins or tools. There are two ways to customize the Toolbar: mission focused and user focused. The user focused customization will change the appearance of the Toolbar. To adjust the appearance of the Toolbar the user will need to go to the Overflow Menu, Settings, then Display Settings.
Once in tap on Display Settings where the user will Tool Bar Customization. Clicking on that will give the user 5 options to adjust the appearance of the Tool Bar. All these options are what works for the user. The 5 options are:
- Toolbar Side
- Toolbar Icon Color
- Toolbar background Color
- Reset the Toolbar Colors To Default
- Force Extra Icons in Landscape
The customization will come from color adjustments. When the user clicks on the Icon or Background color a slide bar will come up where the color can be manipulated.
Play with the color schemes and find the one that is pleasing to the users eye. This is just another glimpse into how to customize small features of ATAK.
